Homes for different lives
Studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and approximately 30 three-bedroom homes for individuals and families.
Housing people can build a life around
Publicly owned. Mixed-income. Mixed-generation. Planned to break ground in 2027.

The policy
Good public housing should be housing people are proud to call home.
My plan would create the Charlottetown Housing Authority to build a publicly owned, mixed-income and mixed-generation community of approximately 160 homes. The goal is a Vienna-type social mixture: different ages, incomes and family sizes living together, not an institution separated from the city around it.
“A mixture of ages, incomes and family sizes creates a community, not an institution.”
A complete community
Studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and approximately 30 three-bedroom homes for individuals and families.
At least 20 accessible or adaptable homes, planned into the project from the beginning.
A ground-floor daycare with 60 to 80 spaces that supports families and makes daily life easier.
Homes for seniors, families and workers, with affordable, workforce and market rents in one community.
Land and homes kept in public hands so long-term value serves Charlottetown residents.
Rental revenue is reinvested in maintenance, services and the next generation of public homes.
Mixed-income public housing
The project combines affordable, workforce and market rents. Public ownership keeps the land and homes working for Charlottetown over the long term, while rental revenue supports maintenance, resident services and future housing.
Protecting the public interest
The exact location will be announced after the necessary land agreements are secured. Publishing it early could invite speculation, raise costs and weaken the taxpayer’s negotiating position.
The commitment
Approximately 160 homes, a built-in daycare and a genuinely mixed community, kept in public ownership for the long term.
